Christian marriage is all about what the Bible says marriage is about. In Proverbs 18:22 NIV, the Bible says that whoever finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. Furthermore, it enjoins Husbands to love their wives, by stating that husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies (Ephesians 5:25, 28, and 33) and wives are to be submissive as stated in Ephesians 5:23-24.
To cap it all, the Bible says the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is also the head of the church, being himself the savior of the body (Ephesians 5:23 and 1 Corinthians 11:3 NIV)
Secular marriages on the other hand have a viewpoint that does not include anything religious or spiritual. Humanist ceremonies are the most common type of secular marriage. Secularism, says that marriage should be purely secular and civil. There should be no religious involvement of any kind in the foundation of a legally regulated relationship such as marriage. The school of thought believes that secular marriages give freedom to get divorced and that Christian marriages deprive people of their rights under the law. To continue, it also says that Christian marriage disadvantages women and that it reproduces an existing patriarchal order which minimizes social change.
