God’s Mandate

According to Webster’s New Universal Unabridged Dictionary, a mandate is an authoritative order or command especially a written one. God’s mandate could also be said to be his commandments. The books of Exodus, Luke, Matthew, Mark, and Joshua have verses that mention this.

In Exodus 20:3, it says “You shall have no other God before me.” Luke 10:27 adds on by saying, “Love all your soul and with your strength and with your mind and love, and your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:36 and Mark 12:28-31 call this commandment the most important and greatest commandment to exist.

Also, Joshua 1:8 said, Keep this book of the law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous.

God’s mandate cannot be concluded without the great commission. In Matthew 28:16-20 Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of age.”
