God wants every man to spend eternity with Him. This, however, is only possible when they are born again, according to John 3:3-7.
To be born again is to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to Earth and lived amongst men until he was crucified and buried before rising from the grave on the third day. He appeared to his disciples and people before going to heaven, where he is now mediating for all believers who have confessed their sins and repented. One day he will return to Earth to judge the living and the dead by their actions.
This promise of eternity by God is borne out of His love for humanity. His word says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.
