Repentance is to acknowledge all the things you are doing that are causing you to sin.
Today men and women have formed ministries. The core of which is repentance and the spreading of the good news. Repentance is necessary because Isaiah 53:6 says “All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way”; Romans 3:23 also says: “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
John the Baptist preached in the wilderness of Judea saying “Repent ye for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” Matthew 3:2. Matthew 4:7 also reads that when Jesus began to preach and say, repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Some people believe repentance is about giving your life to God. However, many religions claim that they are repentant but they are not. But, there are some churches that do what they preach. Others just get into God as business that is why there are churches everywhere.
A Baptist minister says for repentance to occur one has to recognize their state of being, one has to recognize that they are a sinner and that they need redemption. In that state of mind, you have to call on the only one who can rescue you from the body of sin. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). I am the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
One has to make a U-turn from their old ways and put their faith in Jesus, and he will be gracious and receive such a person.
1st John 1:9 “If we confess our sin he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
