The Titles of Jesus Christ: Part 3
Webster’s New Universal Unabridged Dictionary Deluxe Second Edition defines Lord as a person having great power and authority; such as a ruler or master. Jesus is such one.
Romans 10:9 declares the Lordship of Jesus when it says, “If you declare with your mouth Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Also, Matthew 28:18-20 states, “Then Jesus came to them and said; ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of age.’”
Accepting and believing the above assertions puts you in a good frame of mind to live appropriately.
Furthermore, Romans 6:16 says: “Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey?” This is an exploration of what humanity does and talks about the people not thoroughly yielded to the Lordship of Jesus.
Therefore Matthew 6:24 contributes to this conversation saying, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other.” Meaning to say that you cannot serve both God and money
