Webster’s New Universal Dictionary defines an advocate as a counselor, one who defends and vindicates or espouses a cause by argument. This is what Jesus Christ does for those who believe in him.
Christ came on Earth to rescue sinners from a world of sin, by accepting to go to Calvary Cross. 1 Peter 3:18 states, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous.” This was done to bring us to God. Jesus died, and on the third day, he arose and appeared to his disciples before ascending to heaven.
Now he is, according to Hebrews 7:25, interceding and 1 John 2:1-2, advocating for all who accept and will accept Him as Lord and Savior.
