A Relationship with God: Part 2

As we said in the post earlier, a relationship with God entails hearing from God and committing to his instructions, eventually leading to success. We continue now with a post that gives an example of two other men who succeeded in their lives because they had a relationship with God. These two men are, Moses, and Saul (Paul.)

In Exodus 3:4, Moses encountered God. “Moses! Moses!” The Lord called out to him as he checked out a bush that was in flames but not consumed. Then Moses answered, “Here I am.”

Then from Exodus 3:5-10, God introduced himself and informed Moses of the mission he wanted to be accomplished. Initially, Moses declined and cried out, “Who am I?” He could not see himself achieving the feat the Lord demanded of him. But, he eventually agreed to it when God encouraged him and promised to be by his side. Moses ended up leading the Isrealites out of Egypt. He had tried to rescue the Israelites by himself and failed until God stepped in.

In the case of Saul, who later became known as Paul, he persecuted Christians until he encountered God on the road to Damascus. Saul was on his way to attack more Christians, when a brilliant light struck him, this light caused him to fall to the ground, and then he heard a voice. “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

The question was all it took to change his life, and eventually, he began following the instructions of God. To this day, he is credited with writing some of the books in the New Testament, and at the end of his life, in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, he said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only me but so to all who have longed for his appearing.”

Success in life involves a combination of a particular word of God that captures your essence and requires action from you.
